Only a few minutes away from Victoria, the capital of the
Seychelles, the new Hilltop Boutique Hotel is the ideal place for a relaxing,
stress-free get-away holiday in the Seychelles.
On top of the St. Louis hill next to the popular Creole
restaurant, Marie-Antoinette, the Hilltop Boutique hotel offers a unique view
of Port Victoria, the Marine Park, and the neighboring islands.
Managed by Victoria Fonseka and owned by her mother, Mrs.
Irene Fonseka, Hilltop Boutique Hotel is a small tourism establishment with a
unique touch and service.
The hotel is made up of spacious self-catering apartments
ideal for family and studio rooms for single persons or couples.
The Hilltop Boutique hotel has been in operation since April
this year, and the project took three years to complete.
The 11 spacious apartments of 50 to 80 square meters each
and 4 studio rooms all provide comfort and tranquility.
The new hotel prides itself on being an ideal home-away-from-home
place. The new Hilltop Boutique Hotel was once the home of departed Captain
Tregarten, who ferried the exiled Sultan from Zanzibar to Seychelles in 1921.
In 1972, the late Kathleen Fonseka, who was a well-known
figure as she was the founder of the famous Marie-Antoinette restaurant, signed
a purchase deal with Captain Tregarten and set up a guesthouse business.
As a guest of the Hilltop Boutique Hotel one may choose to
self-cater or allow yourself to be catered to. The hotel offers the option of a
served breakfast, lunch or dinner, and afternoon coffee or tea with pastry.
Though it has taken 3 years to construct, the Fonseka team
is happy that this dream has become a reality. The Fonseka family see
themselves leading an establishment with an amazing history which is now
contributing towards the advancement of the tourism industry of Seychelles.
Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture,
accompanied by Anne Lafortune, the PS for Tourism, and Nathalie Didon, the
Deputy CEO of the Tourism Board, visited the new Victoria property to meet with
the Owner/Manager and said that they welcomed another Seychellois family into
the tourism industry of Seychelles.
"We have echoed the call for Seychelles to claim back
its tourism industry, and the only way our country can achieve this drive is to
see more Seychellois follow the example of the Fonseka Family who have moved
back to Seychelles from Germany," Minister St.Ange said as he
congratulated the owners of the new Hilltop Boutique Hotel for bringing a great
new addition to the bed stock of the country.
