BANGKOK, Thailand - Poruwa, the traditional wedding ceremony that is believed to have existed in Sri Lanka since before the introduction of Buddhism, can now be celebrated at Centara Passikudah Resort & Spa in a wedding package that includes documentation, the ceremony, and a choice of wedding venues.

Under the package, the ceremony takes place on the traditional Poruwa wooden platform, with the room being decorated in traditional style.

Sri Lankan girls sing the blessings, a wedding cake is provided, and there is a bottle of sparkling wine for toasting the future of the happy couple.
