Hurricane Alley is expanding their list of attractions in 2014 with the first surf simulator in Corpus Christi. The locally-owned and operated waterpark brings surfing to the SEA District with the installation of the brand new Flowrider Double®, the original surf simulator. Surfers and spectators won’t have to wait for the perfect wave; they can catch one all summer long, exclusively at Hurricane Alley Waterpark.
“The addition of a surf simulator to Hurricane Alley is a natural fit,” says Jim Kunau, General Manager of the Hurricane Alley Waterpark. Surfing a Flowrider® is similar to wake boarding, snowboarding, skateboarding, and, of course, surfing. A sense of balance and a little practice is all it takes for most people. The riders are not the only ones who will benefit from the addition of Hurricane Alley Waterpark’s newest attraction; guests of the park have nearly as much fun as participants as they observe the adventurous riders plunging into each perfect wave.
Bill Durrill, Hurricane Alley Owner-Operator, can hardly contain his excitement about the expansion. “We have continued our commitment to providing the best family entertainment in the Coastal Bend. Things like our Camp HA, the Caller Times Dive In Movie series, and our weekday specials have made Hurricane Alley the place to be in the summer. Adding the Flowrider® Surf Simulator, our first major expansion since opening two summers ago, gives teens and young adults one more reason to visit the SEA District.”
Hurricane Alley Waterpark is hosting a naming contest. Facebook fans of Hurricane Alley will be challenged to find fun names that fit the park and the ride. Contest details are available on the Hurricane Alley website (www.HurricaneAlley.com) and on the Hurricane Alley Facebook page. The winner will receive a four pack of Season Passes and other prizes. Hurricane Alley is opening March 8th for Spring Break again this year. The Flowrider® Surf Simulator will open in May.
