Sixt rent a car Scholarship 2014/2015

Sixt Rent-a-Car has established a scholarship program to assist high school students who plan to continue their education in college. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.

This scholarship program is administered by Scholarship Management Services®, a division of Scholarship America®. Scholarship Management Services is the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship and tuition reimbursement programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability or national origin.

Applicants to the Sixt Scholars Program must -
  • Be graduating high school seniors within the United States.
  • Plan to enroll in full time undergraduate study at an accredited two year or four year college or university for the entire 2014-2015 academic year.
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent).

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $5,000 award. Up to five (5) awards will be granted each year. Awards are one time only. Past recipients may not reapply.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Program Deadline

Your application must be submitted by March 3, 2014 by 11:59 p.m. Only the first 500 submitted applications will be accepted. Your documents must be mailed and postmarked by March 3, 2014.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal. Financial need as calculated by Scholarship Management Services must be demonstrated for the student to receive an award.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship Management Services. In no instance does any officer or employee of Sixt Rent-a-Car play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Applicants will be notified in late April. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship Management Services processes scholarship payments on behalf of Sixt Rent-a-Car. Payments are made in equal installments on August 15 and December 30. A check is made payable to the student’s school and mailed to each recipient's home address.

Recipients have no obligation to Sixt Rent-a-Car. They are, however, required to notify Scholarship Management Services of any changes in address, school enrollment, or other relevant information, and to send a complete official transcript when requested.

Sixt Rent-a-Car reserves the right to review the conditions and procedures of this scholarship program and to make changes at any time including termination of the program.
