Not long after announcing a fourth flight to Entebbe, the
local British Airways office has taken up the fight for passengers to the
market in Uganda. For the forthcoming festive season, the airline is now
offering rebates of up to 40 percent across all classes, in a move which is
bound to fuel an intensely competitive environment among all airlines flying to
Uganda, as surely they will soon react with offers of their own.
British Airways’ Uganda Manager Faith Chaitezvi yesterday
provided the following details about the fares, their validity, and terms and
conditions attached to bookings:
In a move that will make it a lot more affordable for
passengers to travel to the UK this festive season. British Airways will offer
massively discounted fares from Entebbe to London across all its cabin classes
this winter. Passengers can expect to enjoy discounts of up to 40% on tickets in
World traveler, World traveler Plus, and Club world.
Announcing the development in a press statement today Faith
Chaitezvi, British Airways’ Uganda Manager said: “As a full service airline BA
would like to thank all our customers for the loyalty and support they have
given us in the course of the year. We understand that Christmas season is a
very special time for everyone and we felt that it would be appropriate if made
a small gesture that makes it a lot more affordable for families and friends to
get together by making it cheaper to travel to London which is a key transit
and final destination for many of our passengers out of Entebbe.”
The cheapest ticket a World traveler ticket will cost US$1,199,
a World traveler plus US$1,160 and a Club World ticket would cost US$3,419.
Talking about the validity, terms and conditions of the
tickets she explained that outbound passengers can book their seats between
today and October 7 but can only travel between December 23-28, 2013. Faith
noted that passengers who wish to travel outside of those dates would still
enjoy the discounts but pay a bit more.
Prices include all taxes and surcharges but may vary
slightly on the day of purchase due to exchange rate fluctuations.
Faith encouraged passengers to take advantage of the offer
because London during Christmas seasons has a lot to offer in terms of culture,
cuisine and shopping which is why the city is such a popular year-end holiday
destination.
Go book, go fly…
