Centara Grand Phratamnak Resort Pattaya will feature the first
restaurant in Asia to be branded with the name of the famed Italian wine house
Ruffino.
To
be named Ruffino Restaurant & Lounge, this signature restaurant will be
located on the rooftop of the nine-story five-star hotel, with superb views
across the bay, and will serve traditional and contemporary cuisine from the
coast of Italy.
Ruffino,
which is based in Chianti, in the heart of Tuscany, was founded in 1877 and is
one of Italy’s premier wine exporters.
The
restaurant concept has been developed by the award-winning architectural and
design firm dwp|next, and has been conceived as a stylish venue with theatrical
features, such as a wine bar offering quality wines by the glass and a show
kitchen with wood-fired oven and charcoal grill.
Along
with a collection of Ruffino Italian wines the restaurant will serve a large
selection of international labels.
“We
are very proud indeed to have been selected by Ruffino for their first
restaurant in this region,” says Dominique Ronge, general manager of Centara
Grand Phratamnak Resort Pattaya.
“The
restaurant will we believe become a landmark dining experience in Pattaya, for
hotel guests and city visitors and residents alike.”
The
restaurant and wine lounge will have an open, fresh sea breeze feel and be
partly encased in glass to offer a cooler environment for guests who prefer to
dine in air-conditioned surroundings.
Illario
and Leopoldo Ruffino founded the wine house in 1877, with a winery at
Pontassieve, just outside of Florence, where they began producing wines
according to a strict quality standard and rigorous technical research.
Today
Ruffino is part of Constellation Wines, the company that has in its stable
Robert Mondavi, Inninkillin and Kim Crawford.
Dwp|next
has been contracted to conceptualize and support this new restaurant until
opening.
