South India Tour Package – A perfect gateway to your dream destination

GURGAON, India -- Day 01: Chennai - Mutukuddu (60 Kms)
On your arrival at Chennai (Madras) International Airport, our representative will receive you and transfer you to Mutukuddu and on your arrival there, check in to the hotel for the rest of the time. [Generally International flight arrives mid night.]

Day 02: Mahabalipuram-Kanchipuram-Mutukuddu

Morning after a healthy breakfast, take a full day excursion of Mahabalipuram and Kanchipuram.

*      Kanchipuram Sightseeing

*      Sri Varadaraja Perumal Temple

*      Ekambareswarar Temple

*      Pandavar Perumal Temple

Drive back to Mahabalipuram to visit places like:

*      Shore Temples,

*      Arjuna's Penance

*      Five Ratha's,

*      Shore Temple

*      Mahishamardini Cave,

*      Krishna's Butterball,

*      Dharmaraja Cave

For the rest of the time visit Mahabalipuram Beach or witness the famous dance festival. Once done with the day’s activity take an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 03: Mutukuddu - Pondicherry (155 Kms)

Morning after breakfast, proceed for Pondicherry. Once you reached there, book a hotel. After lunch commence sightseeing in and around Pondicherry, which includes Aurobindo Ashram, Nehru Toy Museum, Puduchery Museum, Roman Rolland Library, Botanical Garden, etc.

*      Sri Aurobindo Ashram

If time permits, you can also visit the Auroville Matri Mandir (From outside only), else spending time in and around the beaches, would be the most feasible option.

Day 04: Pondicherry - Chidambaram - Kumbakonam (140 Kms)

Morning after breakfast, take a drive to Kumbakonam. En route visit Chidambarame, the shrine of Shiva Nataraja, a cosmic dancer and representation of the Lord Shiva. Upon arrival at Kumbakonam pilgrimage center in South India[http://www.perfectindiantourism.com/], which is famous for its large number of Hindu temples, check in to the hotel and for rest of the time go for sightseeing in and around the area, which includes:

*      Kumbeswarar Temple        

*      Sarangapani Temple

*      Munishwar Jain Temple

*      Nageswarar Temple

*      Chakkarapani Temple

For the rest of the time, visit the local market and in the evening return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 05: Kumbakonam – Tanjore (Thanjavur) – Trichy (Tiruchirappalli) (145 Kms)

After an early breakfast drive to Trichy via Tanjore, the ancient capital of the Chola dynasty. En route visit Brihadishwara Shiva Temple, measuring around 70 meters high and Sri Ranganathaswami Temple, in the Island of Cavery River. Also visit the famous Rock Temple (Ganesha Temple). From the top you can see the panoramic view of the Trichy city. After a memorable sightseeing, proceed to the city and check-in to the hotel. Evening free for leisure activities, overnight stay at hotel.

Day 06: Trichy (Tiruchirappalli) - Madurai (135 Kms)

After healthy morning breakfast at the hotel proceed to Madurai, the second biggest city in Tamil Nadu and religious head in South India. On arrival, check in to the hotel and proceed for a local sightseeing of Madurai.

*      Visit the Tirumalai Nayak Palace and Minakashi Sundareswara, constructed with 12 "gopurams" and is richly decorated.

*      In the evening attend the ceremony inside the Minakashi Temple and visit 1000 pillar hall cum museum.

Once done visiting the places, take an overnight stay at hotel.

Day 7 - Madurai / Periyar (150 Kms)

Drive to Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary situated in the mountains of Kerala. Once reached, check in to the hotel-Tree Top Hotel 3 *. The reserve is home to bison, antelopes, elephants, wild boars, monkeys and a variety of birds. Also enjoy the boat ride on the lake. In the evening cover all the places including the old spice market on time and return back to hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 08: Madurai – Munnar (190 Kms)

After any early breakfast drive to Munnar, the famous hill station in South India, Kerala. The first part of your journey will take you through the paddy and sugar cane fields and thereby progressively ascending to Munnar through the Neelgiri hills (Blue Mountains). On arrival, check in to the hotel or resort. In the evening, visit the nearby lush green tea gardens and take a breathtaking view of the slopes with the setting sun. This place can truly be said to be remembered once for a lifetime. Once done with the activities, take an overnight stay in the resort or hotel.

Day 09: Munnar Hiking & Sightseeing

After breakfast, commence for a Hiking tour to drive towards Yalapatti, Nagarmudi village.

*      Hiking for around 3-4 hrs with first part ascending through the Eucalyptus and Rhododendron forest.

*      From the top, get a wide view of the Annamudi Peak and Changulam Dam.

*      The second part is descending through the tea plantation that is inhabitant by the local peoples.

*      Rest of the time visit Tea Museum and Muttupetty Dam. One can also enjoy boating in the lake. Once done with the day’s activity, take an overnight stay at the hotel/resort.

Day 10: Munnar - Silent valley - Camp (2280 m) 5-6 hrs Trek:

After an early breakfast at the hotel, proceed to Silent Valley, the trail through tea plantations. Once you start the trek, you can find beyond the tea plantations, the path climbs to the Solash peak, through the small settlement and tea plantation. Pitch the camp near the stream and have an overnight stay in the tents.

Day 11: Full day Excursion of Meesapulimala (2630 m) 5-6 hrs Trek:

Day 11 will bring lots of excitements as one can climb the second highest peak of the Western Ghats, through the lush green valley and hills. From the top, the view is splendid with barren hills and lakes below, and extends to the plains of Tamil Nadu, neighboring state of Kerala, where the trek ends. The opposite slope dips steeply beneath our feet, in the direction of the tea. Our local expert guides will try and search for wild animals. Once done with the activities, return back to the camp for an overnight stay in tents.

For the rest of the day, take some time out for shopping and visiting the nearby markets. After a wonderful farewell dinner, proceed for the airport for departure and reach your home with sweet memories from Tamil Nadu & Kerala (Southern Part of India).
