The Sedona Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau attends AIBTM Show

Susan Boehnstedt, Director of Sales for the Sedona Chamber of Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau, will be attending America’s Incentives Business Travel and Meeting Expo (AIBTM). Boehnstedt will represent the City of Sedona and the surrounding travel destination areas.

AIBTM is a buyers based conference-style meetings show conducted in Chicago in June, 2013. It is the leading domestic Meetings show for the USA. Of the 100% of meetings scheduled or discussed at AIBTM, 85% of these are held in the USA. Buyers are decision makers responsible for organizing business travel, meetings, conferences, events and incentive trips. Exhibitors are suppliers to the meetings and incentives industry. At AIBTM buyers and sellers are able to conduct business that would otherwise be generated only through an exhaustive number of domestic trips.

The target market of this project is domestic buyers interested in hosting meetings in the USA buyers seeking relationships with Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs)

The objective is to meet with the buyers who host smaller venues that fit the Sedona market. The idea is to educate the buyers on the meeting product available in Sedona, to inform them about the area and location in general as well as advise them of the specifics of all there is to see and do in Sedona. In order to achieve (increased) meetings/events/groups in the Sedona area –the ultimate goal of this activity - the buyers must be sold first on the destination, then on the locations and amenities offered by various hoteliers.  The aim of this project is to present the destination of Sedona as a key tourism destination in a much focused manner to the respective buyers shopping for their next meeting destination in the Southwestern, USA.
