Ghana Domestic Tourism Fair & Exhibition 2013

The Ghana Domestic Tourism Company in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and the Ghana Tourist Authority, announces The Ghana Domestic Tourism Fair & Exhibition (GDTFE) 2013. The three (3) Days event will be held from 20 - 22 September 2013 at the National Theatre and Efua Sunderland’s Park, Accra Ghana. The aim of GDTFE 2013 is to promote Ghana’s Domestic Tourism industry and expose its potential to local and foreign investors. Theme for the Fair is: ‘Growth & Employment’. The event seeks to;
•Provide a platform for expansion and opportunities for Ghana’s Domestic Tourism.
•Project domestic tourism as a potential lead sector in the tourism industry.
• Create awareness of what Ghana has to offer in domestic tourism.
•Network and create partnership with stake holders.
•Present Ghana's Tourist potential as a major investment portfolio
•Present Ghana’s competitive advantage in Africa in Tourism
•Expose existing trade and investment opportunities.
•Introduce the rich traditions and cultural heritage of the country.

Organisations from every aspect of Ghanaian tourism will be taking part as products, heritage, culture, ecotourism, leisure, lifestyle, events, and tourist attractions will all be promoted, exhibited and discussed. Whether you are involved in the industry itself, seeking out more information, or are just looking to be a part of something special, the Ghana Domestic Tourism Fair & Exhibition 2013 provides a unique opportunity. The Chief Executive Officer Barima Adu-Asamoa stated ‘The passing of the Tourism Bill is in the right direction and stakeholders in the industry now need to put our energies together to ensure growth in the sector, particularly domestic tourism. The domestic tourism industry certainly requires urgent capitalisation, upgrade of basic infrastructures, strategic marketing and promotion to make it attractive, viable and increase its contribution to the GDP as well as provide employment. We hope this event makes a contribution in that direction&r squo;.

The event will attract national, regional, and international trade organisations as such as, Tourism Investment companies/agents, Tourism Authorities and Associations, Venture Capital investment, Financial Institutions, Trade Associations, Corporate Executives, Travel and Tour Operators, Airlines, Arts & Cultural organizations, Government/Ministers/Institutions, African Regional Development Organsiations,E-Tourism Consultant and companies, Museums and Cultural Heritage Sites, Building /Construction, Developers, Environmentally-Friendly Technology Companies, Hotels and Resorts, Travel Organisations, Environmental Protection Agencies, Suppliers and Service Providers to the Tourism, , Universities/Institutions, Agro business, Health & Wellness, Media & Communications,
The event will also convey the Ghana Domestic Tourism Business Forum 2013, which will feature an array of keynote speakers on the theme: ‘Growth & Employment’. Barima Adu-Asamoa further added that ‘The object of the Business Forum 2013 is to deliberate on certain areas of the business, investment, infrastructure and marketing ect which are critical to the overall strategic development of our tourism industry to ensure sustainable growth and development’.

The Ghana Domestic Tourism Fair & Exhibition (GDTFE) 2013 will see performances and local promotions revolving around cuisine, musical concert, Youth Competition, and other activities and presentations. With more than two hundred (200) expected booths taking part in GDTFE -2013, there will be no shortage of sights, sounds, entertainment, and information being shared and passed around at all times.
