Midwest Airlines Introduces Confirmed Standby OptioneTN MILWAUKEE, Aug. 24 // -- Midwest Airlines and Midwest Connect passengers whose travel plans change now have the option to receive a confirmed standby seat on an earlier or later Midwest flight the same day."Being able to confirm a seat on an earlier or later flight is a convenient option for travelers whose schedules are likely to change," explained Scott R. Dickson, Midwest Airlines senior vice president and chief marketing officer. "Confirmed standby is one more way Midwest is working to make flying as hassle-free as possible." Passengers may request a confirmed standby seat at any Midwest Airlines or Midwest Connect ticket counter or gate within three hours of the scheduled departure of the new flight. If seats are available, the passenger will receive a boarding pass and confirmed seat assignment on the desired flight upon payment of a $25 service fee (plus any difference in government-imposed fees). The new option applies to all refundable and most nonrefundable tickets, as well as award tickets. Travel must depart from and arrive in the same cities as the original ticket, though intermediate stops may vary. Midwest will continue to offer its existing standby option at no charge. Under that option, passengers may stand by for a flight earlier or later the same day, but are not guaranteed a seat will be available. Midwest Airlines (AMEX:MEH) features jet service throughout the United States. Skyway Airlines, Inc. -- its wholly owned subsidiary -- operates as Midwest Connect, which offers connections to Midwest Airlines as well as point-to-point service between select markets on regional jet and turboprop aircraft. Together, the airlines offer service to 47 cities. More information is available at midwestairlines.com. Source: Midwest Airlines |
