Jazeera Airways to start flights to Kochi from Aug 30IANS NEW DELHI: Jazeera Airways, Kuwait's national airline, will start three flights a week to Kochi in Kerala from Aug 30 with fares starting at $35.The low cost Jazeera Airways began operations to India last July with direct flights to Mumbai and New Delhi. It will fly to Kochi, the commercial hub of Kerala, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, the airline said in a statement on Monday. "Kochi, queen of the Arabian Sea, is an important addition to our tourist destinations. The city is rated in the top three tourist destinations by the World Travel and Tourism Council and featured in National Geographic Traveller's '50 greatest places of a lifetime'," said Jazeera Airways vice president for Industry Affairs Bader Al Mershed. "The Kochi route is part of Jazeera Airways' aggressive expansion after receiving two brand new aircraft from Airbus in June and July bringing the airline's total number of aircraft to four new Airbus A320s with all leather seating." The launch of flights to Mashhad and Assiut earlier this month and the increase of flights to Damascus and Alexandria in addition to doubling flights to Dubai in the last two months were also part of this strategy. With flights to Kochi, the 10-month old airline now flies to 13 destinations, eight of which were added in the last 6 months. |
