ITE MICE 2009 - unique program for MICE exhibitors to enhance contacts with our 12,900 buyers, trade, and corporate visitors

www.itehkmice.com

ITE MICE exhibitors will be offered, free of charge, certain number of pre-appointments with hosted buyers, extra exposures in seminars targeting corporate visitors, and editorial coverage in supplements in business dailies. Also, they can access pre-show our hosted buyers list to make more appointments, and take part in buyer-meet-seller sessions. Assistance will also be provided for holding own seminar or function.

“MICE are relatively new in the region. It has only been recently that various countries and regions set up MICE or convention bureaus with budget and promotions separate from leisure travel. Understandably, MICE needs more supports so we plan to offer MICE exhibitors this unique program,” said KS Tong, managing director of TKS, which organizes ITE MICE and ITE in Hong Kong.

While ITE will be in its 23rd edition this year, ITE MICE was first launched in 2006. Responses so far have been encouraging as the number of corporate visitors rose to 3,700 in 2008 from 800 in 2005. MICE exhibitors last year, including those in ITE MICE and in various official pavilions in ITE, totaled 150 and accounted for 23 percent of all exhibitors. Not only is ITE MICE the only of its kind in Hong Kong and Pearl River Delta, it also gains supports from international chambers of commerce and event industry associations in the region.

The last ITE MICE & ITE saw 20 percent of the buyers, trade, and corporate visitors coming from mainland China, and 15 percent from abroad; with 6,800 travel agents/tour operators and 3,700 corporate visitors. There were 358 hosted buyers with two thirds of them from mainland China. Trade media reported that exhibitors gave our travel expo “a high mark, especially for its quality of buyers.”

Profile of Corporate Visitors:
Senior Management - 37%
Insurance / Banking / Professionals / Event Companies - 36%
HR / Admin / Training - 21%

The 4th ITE MICE will be held from June 11 to 13, 2009 at Hall 1E while ITE will be held from June 11 to 13 at Halls 1A to D at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Center, i.e., all parts of ITE MICE & ITE will be held in the same floor.
