Virgin Nigeria Joins ARC and Selects Discover the World Marketing to Handle Its Sales in US and Most of EuropeeTN Virgin Nigeria, Nigeria's private flag carrier, has taken some important steps especially in the US market to increase its visibility by recently joining ARC as a participating carrier and selecting Discover the World Marketing to handle its sales throughout the US and most of Europe.According to Stuart Bailey, Virgin Nigeria's Regional Manager Europe and North America, "To celebrate the new partnership with Discover and our ARC membership, we are providing a six percent commission to travel agents who book Virgin Nigeria flights on our ticket stock as well as our eticketing. Virgin Nigeria is delighted to bring affordable air travel to and around West Africa in to the homes and businesses of our valued customers in the USA. We are thrilled to be working with our friends at Discover, and look forward to offering our warmest African welcome to passengers from across America very soon." Jenny Adams, CEO of Discover the World Marketing said, "We are excited about the prospects of educating the travel trade about Virgin Nigeria and their excellent product and service, such as their drive through check-in at Gatwick Airport. Virgin Nigeria will tap into Discover's knowledge of the US market and industry relationships to increase awareness and selection of Virgin Nigeria when traveling within west and central Africa and from London to Lagos." Discover will represent Virgin Nigeria offline in the US and Denmark, Finland, France, Germany Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, and Sweden. Founded in 2005 and headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria, Virgin Nigeria, serves the West African regional cities of Accra, Dakar, Douala, and Coutonou as well as extensive domestic Nigerian services from its Lagos hub to Abuja, Port Harcourt, Owerri, Kano, Sokoto and Calabar. Virgin Nigeria also operates long haul flights between London and Lagos with continuous service to Johannesburg. The carrier is owned 49 percent by Virgin Atlantic and 51 percent by Nigerian institutional investors. Their fleet consists of 767-300s, 737-300s and F50 aircraft. |
