American Airlines Adds Nonstop Flights to Florida's CapitaleTN New Nonstop Service On American Eagle Airlines To Tallahassee, Fla., Begins March 2American Airlines continues to grow and enhance its South Florida service, announcing today that its regional affiliate, American Eagle, will initiate a new route to Tallahassee, Fla. (TLH), from Miami International Airport (MIA) on March 2, 2008. American Eagle will fly the route twice daily with Embraer 140 jets seating 44 customers. "We are excited to begin service to Florida's capital city -- with its strong ties to South Florida both in government and education," said Peter J. Dolara, American's Senior Vice President-Miami, Caribbean and Latin America. "This new service is something our passengers have been asking for. Connecting these two communities is proof of our ongoing commitment to increase service from our Miami hub. It will also offer passengers from North Florida the ability to connect to destinations throughout the U.S., Caribbean, Latin America and Europe." "We are extremely pleased that American has responded to the demands of the growing market in Tallahassee," said Jose Abreu, P.E., Aviation Director of Miami International Airport. "The additional service between Florida's capital and the state's largest metropolitan area greatly benefits both cities and the state of Florida as a whole." The schedule for the new Tallahassee service is as follows (all times local): Miami International Airport to Tallahassee Regional Airport (MIA-TLH) Flight Departs Arrives Days 4516 7:15 a.m. 8:40 a.m. Daily 4522 4:10 p.m. 5:40 p.m. Daily Tallahassee Regional Airport To Miami International Airport (TLH-MIA) Flight Departs Arrives Days 4519 9:10 a.m. 10:40 a.m. Daily 4523 6:05 p.m. 7:35 p.m. Daily American and American Eagle have a strong history of service to the Bahamas, Caribbean and Latin America from South Florida, stretching back nearly two decades. On Dec. 13, that long-standing commitment to South Florida grows even deeper when American begins nonstop flights from Miami to Barranquilla, Colombia, and Santa Cruz, Bolivia. On the same date, American will also begin nonstop service from Fort Lauderdale to San Jose, Costa Rica, and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Domestic service will also increase on Dec. 13 as American begins Miami-Phoenix nonstop flights, while American Eagle starts nonstop service from Miami to Sarasota-Bradenton, Fla., and Savannah, Ga. With the addition of the new international and domestic routes, American and American Eagle will offer a total of 284 daily flights from Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Convenient service from both major airports in South Florida is just one of the advantages that American and American Eagle offer travelers. In addition, customers also enjoy a list of amenities including the ability to check up to two pieces of luggage each 50 pounds or less for free at the ticket counter, as well as complimentary non-alcoholic beverages.
