Renowned liner company also awarded 'Best Onboard Educational Programs'
Confirming Cunard Line's dominance in the world cruising category, the well-traveled readers of Porthole Cruise magazine have named Cunard operator of the "Best World Cruise Itineraries" for the fifth consecutive year. The Line was also awarded "Best Onboard Educational Programs" in the magazine's annual Readers' Choice Survey, which appears in the December 2007 issue.
"Few awards are as gratifying as those that come from seasoned travellers," said Carol Marlow, president of Cunard Line. "To be recognized as offering the best world cruise itineraries and most meaningful educational programmes confirms that we are delivering compelling experiences that exceed the expectations of our guests while upholding a cherished Cunard legacy."
"Cunard Line exudes elegance and style," said Bill Panoff, publisher and editor-in-chief of Porthole Cruise Magazine. "Our sophisticated readers have applauded the Line by voting it 'best' in two Readers' Choice Awards categories, and I couldn't agree more."
World cruising is an 85-year-old tradition at Cunard, dating back to Laconia, which made the first passenger circumnavigation of the globe in 1922. In 2008, two Cunard ocean liners will offer World Cruises: Queen Victoria will embark on Pathway to the Explorers, her maiden 105-day World Cruise, and Queen Elizabeth 2 will embark on her 26th and final World Cruise, the 90-day South America, Pacific & Far East Odyssey.
