VRG Begins Ticket Sales to Mexico CityeTN GOL Linhas Aereas Inteligentes S.A., the parent company of Brazil's low-cost airlines GOL Transportes Aereos S.A. and VRG Linhas Aereas S.A., today began selling tickets for VRG's newest route, Sao Paulo - Mexico City."We are pleased to begin ticket sales to VRG's first destination in North America. Beginning December 10, VRG will connect Brazil and Mexico, one of our country's most important economic partners," says Lincoln Amano, VRG's commercial director. "Through 2007, we will continue to expand throughout Latin America with flights to Montevideo, Uruguay, and Santiago, Chile, and in Europe with flights to Madrid, Spain." VRG currently offers international service to Bogota, Buenos Aires and Caracas in South America, and Frankfurt, London, Paris and Rome in Europe. The first flight to Mexico City will depart from Sao Paulo's Guarulhos International Airport at 11:00 a.m. (local time), landing at the Mexican capital at 4:45 p.m. (local time). Return flights will depart from Mexico City's Benito Juarez Airport at 6:45 p.m. (local time), arriving in Sao Paulo at 8:25 a.m. (local time). According to Embratur (Brazilian Tourism Board), Mexico ranks 15th in the top 20 countries providing tourists to Brazil. Approximately 70,000 Mexican tourists visited Brazil in 2006 and nearly 43,000 Brazilians traveled to Mexico over the same period.
