AirTran Airways Brings Back Non-Stop Service to Ft. Myers from Akron-Canton Airport

Beginning today - a month earlier than last year - you can board your nonstop flight aboard AirTran Airways to Southwest Florida International Airport in Ft. Myers (RSW) from the Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) and be on the beach by 11 a.m.

Beginning today - a month earlier than last year - you can board your nonstop flight aboard AirTran Airways to Southwest Florida International Airport in Ft. Myers (RSW) from the Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) and be on the beach by 11 a.m. Ah, the beauty of it all.


"We are pleased to bring back our popular non-stop service between Akron-Canton, Ohio and Ft. Myers, Florida," said John P. Kirby, AirTran Airways, director of strategic planning and scheduling. "Northeast Ohioans needing a break can escape the cold and enjoy the sun and beautiful beaches of southwest Florida."


"Northeast Ohioans have a love affair with Ft. Myers and that's why AirTran Airways is bringing it back early," said Kristie VanAuken, director of marketing and communication. "This flight is so popular and now passengers can fly there even earlier for the holiday season at a price they can afford."


If Ft. Myers isn't your bag but you can't get enough of Florida, AirTran Airways also flies nonstop from CAK to Orlando or Tampa. AirTran Airways offers business class seating on every flight with XM satellite radio aboard their comfy, new Boeing jets. So say "goodbye" to Ohio and "hello" to palm trees.
