Customers Use Mobile Devices to Gain Information and Ease Travel

AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc., today announced that it has introduced a Mobile Web program that allows customers to view flight status, check in for flights and select seats using their personal mobile devices and cell phones. AirTran customers can use Mobile Web immediately.

"AirTran Airways is constantly developing innovative ways to make travel easier and more convenient," said Tad Hutcheson, vice president of marketing and sales for AirTran Airways. "Mobile Web gives AirTran Airways customers more information and allows them to save time and increase their travel options. They won't have to hunt down a computer with Internet access each time they want to review an itinerary, check in for a flight or get the most current flight status information."

When checking in via mobile devices, customers can obtain printed boarding passes at convenient ByePass kiosks or AirTran Airways ticket counters. AirTran Airways' new service also enables customers to earn A+ Rewards credits and select the number of bags to be checked. AirTran Airways will add even more capabilities for customers with mobile devices in the future.
