Unnamed European airline orders 10 Bombardier Q400 turboprops

reportonbusiness.com

Bombardier has received an order for 10 Q400 high-speed turboprop airliners worth at least $267-million (U.S.) from an unnamed European airline.

Bombardier Aerospace said Tuesday the firm order also includes options for an additional 10 of the aircraft.

“The European airline which placed the order will become a new operator of the Q400 airliner and has requested to remain unidentified at this time,” Bombardier said in a release.

If all options are exercised, the contract would be worth about $540-million, the company said.

Bombardier said it now has 264 firm orders for the turboprop, with 164 delivered as of July 31.

Shares in the company were up 2 cents (Canadian) in morning trading at $5.60 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
