Israeli, PA tourism ministers to meetjpost.com Tourism Minister Yitzhak Aharonovich will meet his Palestinian counterpart, Khuloud Daibes, this morning in Jerusalem.The meeting will be the first between Israeli and Palestinian tourism ministers in several years, and will be attended by senior officials from both ministers' offices. Topping the agenda will be proposals for joint efforts to promote tourism to Israel and the Palestinian Authority. Daibes, a Christian born in Bethlehem, grew up in east Jerusalem and served as director of the Center for Cultural Preservation in Bethlehem before her appointment as tourism minister. She described herself as a "technocrat without a political background, an independent," in an interview with the Jerusalem Post earlier this year. |
