Tourism Ireland upgrades recovery managementsiliconrepublic.com CA has completed the installation of a recovery management system for Tourism Ireland. The system, implemented in partnership with Irish IT professional services firm Deft, will provide business continuity and data protection to the tourism body. Tourism Ireland provides strategic leadership in international marketing to increase tourism to the island of Ireland. Use of the system will enable Tourism Ireland to minimise disruption to global marketing campaigns, increase staff productivity and provide a secure platform for growth into emerging markets, it has been claimed. The system will be used across Tourism Ireland’s head offices in Dublin and Coleraine and 12 offices across the world. Deft was chosen to implement a robust and scalable data protection system from CA to safeguard all core operational data, including important marketing, human resources and finance information. The recovery management system uses CA XOsoft WANSync and replicates all of Tourism Ireland's critical email data, essential to targeted promotion that forms a core part of Tourism Ireland’s marketing strategy. The CA system is estimated to be able to recover over 230GB of email data in less than one hour, a task that would have taken up to three days prior to the deployment. The system also ensures compliance with key legislation such as the Data Protection Act as Tourism Ireland stores the contact details for thousands of previous and prospective visitors from around the globe. “To support our growth into new and developing markets we need to ensure we have the IT infrastructure to enable both our existing and potential offices to work together effectively and productively,” said Eunan McCusker, ICT projects manager with Tourism Ireland. "CA's recovery management solution provides us with all the protection and peace of mind we need to do this." “The availability and integrity of Tourism Ireland's marketing data plays a vital role when rolling out integrated global campaigns,” commented Fergal Hennigan, partner manager of CA Ireland. “Our solution safeguards their business continuity and growth plans as Tourism Ireland continues to bring large numbers of visitors to our shores.” |
