Liverpool John Lennon Airport wins top industry award

Liverpool John Lennon Airport (JLA) has been voted ‘UK Airport of the Year’ at a prestigious travel industry awards ceremony.
JLA picked up the gong at the Travel Trade Gazette (TTG) awards, beating fellow finalists Birmingham, Bristol, East Midlands, Luton and Manchester.
JLA’s managing director, Neil Pakey, “To win the industry’s most prestigious airport award is a recognition of both (airport operator) Peel’s belief in turning the airport into a real regional gateway and to the employees and businesses who work here to turn the investment into a real experience.”
TTG is the UK’s largest-circulation weekly newspaper for the travel trade. Travel agents were asked to vote for their best UK airport, with six finalists going before a panel of expert judges to decide the winner.
