Finnish Tourist Board, Raj Travel tie-upindiatimes.com NEW DELHI: Indian tourists could now celebrate Christmas at the arctic region in Rovaniemi village in Finland, with the Finnish Tourist Board partnering with tour operator Raj Travel World for holiday packages, beginning December.The Board along with Raj Travel has launched two holiday packages, from December to March, in the range of Rs 96,666 to Rs 155,555 and Rs 72,222 to Rs 136,999. "We see a rise of about 45 per cent every month in the number of Indians travelling to Finland and we hope to promote winter tourism among Indians," Finnish Tourist Board Regional Manager Sven Hansen told reporters on Tuesday. For the holiday packages, Raj Travel has joined hands with service providers in Helsinki, Kemi, Rovaniemi, and would offer slew of activities like snow-mobile safari, skiing, sledge rides and ice-cruises in Finnish cities of Lapland and Rovaniemi. "The packages would be available from December to March and in the first year, we are targeting the high networth individuals and corporate houses," Raj Travel Chairman and Managing Director Lalit Sheth said. He said gradually his agency would partner with other travel agents in the country to offer holiday tours to Finland. In the first year, the travel operator is aiming about 300 people for the package, he said adding that they are in talks with corporate houses and MNCs to offer the packages in bulk. "The tourists would also have the option of availing travel loans offered by us in collaboration with the State Bank of India, under which they would be able to pay in monthly instalments," Sheth said. |
