Chef/Owner Michel Richard to Serve as Guest Chef Aboard Regent Seven Seas Cruises

Today, Cruise Holidays of Alexandria, located in Alexandria, Virginia, announced that Chef/Owner Michel Richard will serve as Guest Chef on the July 16, 2008, 7-night Alaska cruise aboard the Seven Seas Mariner of Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

Chef/Owner Richard is the world-renown and multi award-winning owner and Executive Chef of Michel Richard Citronelle, located at 3000 M Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. Aboard this Seward, Alaska to Vancouver, Canada cruise, Chef/Owner Richard will host two cooking demonstrations and prepare a 5-course degustation menu to be served in the ship's Compass Rose Restaurant.


Clients who book Chef/Owner Richard's cruise through Cruise Holidays of Alexandria will enjoy an exclusive shore excursion and onboard cocktail reception with the chef. This cruise is also part of Cruise Holidays of Alexandria's "Cruise for a Cause" Program. One-hundred dollars from every stateroom booked through Cruise Holidays of Alexandria will benefit the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.


Chef/Owner Richard's award-winning career spans more than four decades, two continents and two coasts. Among his many awards are: the James Beard Foundation 2007 Outstanding Chef Award; member of the prestigious Relais & Chateaux (July 2003-July 2007); and Best Chef of the Year award from Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington (2002). His restaurants also have achieved celebrity status, awarded 2007 Best Restaurant recognition by Washingtonian Magazine and four star rating by The Washington Post; and James Beard Foundation 2007 Outstanding Wine Service Award.


Chef/Owner Richard began his career in France at the young age of fourteen. He relocated to the United States in the mid-1970s, and, in 1987, opened his famous Los Angeles restaurant, Citrus, earning recognition in the first year of its opening as "The Best Restaurant in the United States" by Traveler's magazine. Richard subsequently brought his culinary talents east, opening Michel Richard Citronelle in 1994.
