Luanda - The second edition of the International fair on Tourism and Culture (FITEC), initially expected for September 2007 has been postponed for May 2008, due to logistical difficulties and constraints of access to the venue
This was said Tuesday in Luanda by FITEC's director, Filomena Oliveira - "The 2007 edition of the fair has been postponed until May 28, as we have been facing situations that hinder its holding this year", she said, admitting the transfer of the venue from Luanda to Lubango City, the capital of the southern Huila Province.
Filomena Oliveira said this move is due to the intention of going outside the country's capital city and enable that other regions of Angola can also profit from events like this.
The first edition took place in September 2006, in a promotion of the Ideas Central and Expo-Angola, with the participation of the institutional support of the Ministries of Culture and Hotels and Tourism.
At least 100 exhibitors participated in the event, in an area of 8,000 square metres, receiving an average of 300 people daily.
