American Eagle Launches New Service From Miami to Sarasota/Bradenton, Fla.eTN American Eagle, the regional affiliate of American Airlines, will begin nonstop service between Miami International Airport and Sarasota/Bradenton International Airport on Dec. 13.American Eagle will operate two daily round trips between the two cities, using its 64-seat ATR72 turbo-prop aircraft. "We are pleased to be able to connect these two important Florida markets," said Ed Criner, President of Executive Airlines, which flies as American Eagle in Florida, the Caribbean, and the Bahamas. "This new service is also conveniently timed to connect on flights that are going to Central and South America, the Bahamas, and the Caribbean." "The Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority is very excited about the announcement of American Eagle flights that provide service to American Airlines Miami hub," said Fredrick J. Piccolo, Sarasota/Bradenton International Airport President and CEO. "With the return of Eagle's Miami service, partnered with the oneworld(R) Alliance, it fills a void we hear repeatedly requested from the public. We also want to express our appreciation to Congressman Buchanan who has emphasized his support for service enhancements at SRQ as a member of the House Aviation Subcommittee." Rep. Vern Buchanan (R-Fla.), remarked that he is, "extremely pleased to see the return of American Eagle to the community. The additional access to this major international hub in Miami is beneficial to the economy of the entire area."
