Two Dead, 18 Injuried In Tourist Bus Crash In East China

Two people are dead while 18 others injured, after a tourist bus overturned in a crash in east China's Zhejiang Province on Thursday, local authorities said.


The accident occurred at about 9:00 a.m. when the bus was hit side-on by a container truck on an expressway near Jiaxing City, Xinhua news agency quoted a police spokesman, as saying here.

The Tianjin-registered bus, carrying 31 people, including two drivers, a tour guide and 28 Chinese tourists, was en route to Mount. Wuyi, in the southeastern Fujian Province, from Nantong, a city in eastern Jiangsu Province.

The injured were taken to hospital and the remaining uninjured passengers continued their journey to their destination, police said.

Local authorities are still investigating the accident.
