The film about the prostitution in the town of Sandanski (southern Bulgaria) looks like a desire to reduce tourist inflow in Bulgarian resorts, said Aneliya Krushkova, chairwoman of the State Agency for Tourism.
She was asked to comment on the film shot by the Bulgarian bTV television channel. The material tells about tourism in Sandanski stressing on the prostitution in the town.
According to Krushkova this provocation comes from Greek side. She explained that at a meeting with the tourist sector in Sandanski it said many Greeks came to Bulgaria, while the northern Greek resorts wanted these tourists to remain their clients.
That’s why this is part of their behavior – they aim at diverting tourists from Bulgaria and attracting them to their resorts. We cannot say prostitution does not exist, because apparently it does. Frankly, I think this is a competition policy. It focuses on the negative, which is present not only in Bulgaria but also in Greece, Krushkova commented.
She has stressed prostitution has to be regulated by an act.
