Airline cited for serving man arrested for DWI

kob.com

U.S. Airways has been cited by the state Special Investigations Division for allegedly serving liquor to an intoxicated man.

The man was later arrested on a drunken driving charge in the Albuquerque area.

This incident marks the airline’s second citation since November when the airline served liquor to 44-year-old Dana Papst of Tesuque, who then drove head-on into van near Santa Fe, killing himself and five members of a family.

The crash last November 11th prompted the state to prohibit U.S. Airways from serving liquor on flights in and out of the state until the airline received a state liquor license.

The airline now has a temporary license.
