New international training courses in HCM City aim to educate Vietnamese wishing to become the tourism professionals of tomorrow.

Under an agreement signed on Tuesday, Germany’s Europe Indochina Institute of Tourism (EIT) and the Sao Viet Computer and Language Training Centre will establish a variety of new hospitality and tourism training courses in HCM City.

Courses for tour guides, restaurant operators, front office agents and hotel managers will be offered. Most of the courses will be taught in English and will be specific to the Vietnamese industry.

Special courses on tourism and hospitality-industry English will also be provided as well as computer training courses based on the demands of the sector.

Students, graduates and hospitality industry employees are all eligible to register for the classes.

Dr. Peter Seidel from the HCM City German Consulate General said that an increasing number of foreign tourists are visiting Viet Nam everyday and the domestic tourism and hospitality industry must improve to meet rising demands.

"These training courses are expected to help the domestic industry have a staff with highly professionally skills and to build a strong sense of protecting the tourism environment among tourism workers," he said.
