For the benefit of such people, we have decided to issue tourist tickets valid for one, three and five days on the Mumbai Suburban Service, as a pilot project,” said Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, while announcing the Railway Budget for 2007-08. Such ticket holders will be able to travel any number of times, from any station to any station on the suburban sections of Central and Western Railways of Mumbai. “As a result of this, passengers will not have to stand in a queue again and again to buy tickets,” he added. The scheme of booking e-ticket will be through the Internet.
