Federal Minister of Economics Michael Glos to open the ITB Berlin 2007

Partner country India to hold the programme of cultural events and reception


The opening ceremonies of the ITB Berlin 2007 will take place on 6 March at 7 p.m. in Room 1 of the ICC Berlin. Governing Mayor of Berlin Klaus Wowereit and CEO Messe Berlin GmbH Raimund Hosch will hold welcome addresses, followed by speeches by Francesco Frangialli, General Secretary of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), and Klaus Laepple, President of the Federal Association of the German Tourism Industry (BTW). For Federal Minister of Economics and Technology Michael Glos, 2007 marks the second occasion that he will be opening the ITB Berlin. Representing India, partner country at this year’s ITB organising the programme of cultural events and reception, the Honourable Union Minister for Tourism and Culture Mrs. Ambika Soni will address those present. The guests at the opening ceremonies can look forward to a colourful programme of Indian music performances, a presentation of contemporary art, as well as culinary delights from the northern and eastern regions of the country. The event will culminate in a grand finale presenting Indian classical dance.
