Official Opening of JacTravel’s Dubai Office


JacTravel, the UK-based B2B wholesaler, held a reception at the Dubai Marina Yacht Club to mark the official opening of its Dubai office. The highlight of the evening was an inaugural speech by the company’s President, Mario Bodini, and the raffle of a Fortnum & Mason’s hamper, which was won by Ana Maria Tudorache from DAMAC hotels.

JacTravel has had a local representative office in Dubai since December 2012 and things have gone so well that it has invested in procuring a local operators license and it has recruited additional contracting and sales staff.  With the key people now in place, it has opened officially.

Malcolm Lindop, Head of Contracting, said the company has a clear aim to build strong relationships with local hotels. He said: “We are eager to grow the quality and quantity of JacTravel’s inventory in the region.  That, in turn, will make JacTravel a more compelling supplier to trade clients.” The procurement strategy is being led by Taoufiq Abouchadi, supported by Christina Macdonald.

JacTravel’s sales effort is being led by Dan Cross, who has over six years’ experience working in online travel, during which time he has overseen growth in markets around the world.  Dan says: “My target is to expand JacTravel’s business in terms of revenue and brand recognition. This is a good moment to be doing so, taking advantage of the build up to Expo 2020, which will attract huge numbers of new visitors to Dubai.”

Mario Bodini, President and CCO (pictured), concluded: “I am very excited by the potential of the Middle Eastern market.  At the moment, it is booming, fuelled particularly by increasing numbers of people travelling within the region.  We have a great team in place who are committed to providing a service that is highly knowledgeable, imaginative and responsive to the needs and aspirations of both clients and suppliers.”
