New York, New York: Virgin America Touches Down At LaGuardia

Virgin America, the California-based airline that is reinventing air travel, today launches its new service from New York's LaGuardia Airport (LGA) with four daily nonstop flights to Dallas Love Field (DAL). From today, the airline is now servicing all three major airports in New York, providing guests with more choice and convenience when travelling from the East Coast, with now up to 20 flights departing the New York metropolitan area each day.  Virgin America has already built a loyal following of bi-coastal flyers with its nonstop flights from LAX and SFO to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).  Virgin America's new LGA service is perfectly tailored to the modern business traveler – offering both business-friendly amenities onboard and convenient airport options.  Dallas' beautifully renovated Love Field is a 10-minute car ride to that city's downtown business district and LaGuardia offers convenient access for those headed to or from Manhattan. Virgin America will be the only carrier on the Dallas Love Field to LaGuardia routes to offer a consistent, upscale product on every flight — with three classes of service (including a First Class cabin and a Main Cabin Select premium economy service) as well as fleetwide WiFi, power outlets at every seat, confirmed seating, an award-winning full service food menu and touch-screen seatback entertainment available for every guest. To kick off the new flights, Virgin America is offering a celebratory "

Go Nonstop to the Big Apple" fare sale with fares starting from $89.* Fares are on sale today only at www.virginamerica.com and 1.877.FLY.VIRGIN (1.877.359.8474).**

"We are excited to expand our footprint in New York even further with the addition of LaGuardia, becoming only the second low-cost carrier to serve all three major airports in the metropolitan area," said Virgin America Senior Vice President of Planning and Sales, John Macleod. "We have had a great response to our fares so far, demonstrating that travelers are ready for more fare and product competition at LaGuardia, particularly on this key business route to Dallas Love Field. Our twenty new teammates here at LaGuardia can't wait to showcase our industry-leading product and service to even more New York travelers."

Virgin America secured 12 slots at LGA earlier this year as part of the American Airlines merger settlement.   The new services have been timed to provide convenient connections with Virgin America's new nonstop schedule from DAL. This includes three daily nonstop flights from DAL to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and San Francisco International Airport (SFO).  With a loyal following of business travelers, the airline recently announced plans to add a fourth daily trip from DAL to DCA, SFO and LAX as of April 2015.

"We are very pleased to welcome Virgin America to LaGuardia Airport," said Lysa Scully, General Manager of LGA. "Expanded air travel strengthens existing business ties and benefits both the economies of both cities, while also providing additional travel options for customers throughout the metropolitan region."

Earlier this month, Virgin America opened its doors on a stylish new home at Love Field.  The airline's First Class VIP check-in lounge is located adjacent to its new Love Field ticket counters, and will give First Class guests and Elevate Gold members an upgraded experience from the moment they arrive at the airport's convenient downtown location – complete with a dedicated Virgin America VIP concierge to assist with their travel needs.  The space features modern furniture selected in collaboration with the Dallas-based design group Corgan – including Cassina Tre Pezzi lounge chairs, an Eames chair and ottoman and Foscaraini "Twiggy" floor lighting.  The check-in lounge is also enclosed by a LED-lit divider wall by Molo Design.  The airline's ticket counter offer user-friendly and modern white kiosk tables with touch-screen panels and a concierge desk look-and-feel.  Virgin America's new gates also received the "Virgin" treatment, highlighting the brand's British roots with a classic red London phone booth and art photography capturing moments in Virgin brand history through the decades – from Virgin Records to Virgin Galactic.

Virgin America is also offering up to 20 percent off First Class flights*** using the promocode POSH20 through October 30th for travel from October 30th through November 29, 2014. In addition to a Main Cabin that offers custom-designed leather seating with a deeper, more comfortable pitch, the airline's First Class cabin offers plush white leather seating with 55 inches of pitch, 165 degrees of recline and lumbar massagers. The carrier's Main Cabin Select service offers 38-inches of pitch, free food and cocktails, an all-access pass to media content, dedicated overhead bins and priority check-in/boarding. The Red™ in-flight entertainment platform offers guests their own seatback touch-screen TV, with more than 20 films, live TV, Google Maps, videogames, a 3,000 song library and an on-demand menu, which allows flyers to order a cocktail or snack from their seatback any time during a flight.  Virgin America's airport lounge –

The Loft – is located at LAX and its Elevate frequent flyer program offers no black-outs or restrictions on rewards seats with three levels of status including Elevate Gold and Elevate Silver.  The airline has been named the "Best Domestic Airline" in Conde Nast Traveler's Readers' Choice Awards and Travel + Leisure's World's Best Awards for the past seven consecutive years.  The airline was also named Travel + Leisure's "Best Domestic Airline for Food" this year.  In April, the airline was ranked as the top U.S. carrier in the Airline Quality Rating, an annual study measuring on-time rates, guest satisfaction and other key metrics conducted by Wichita State and Embry-Riddle University.
