Dr. Michael B. Russo, founder Hawaii Pacific DEEG — the state’s most advanced neurology and brain injury diagnostic and treatment center — located on Ward Avenue in Honolulu, announced the grand opening of Hale Lamalama Ka’ili (House of the Radiant Spirit of Health) in Hilo on Saturday, August 31. This new B&B spa is located at the well-known thatched roof, Balinese-style home in Hilo at 1335 laniane'ole St.
This first-of-a-kind healing B&B center will offer a wide variety of treatments, spiritual and health-related, along with an assortment of other amenities and activities for guests. An assortment of locally grown produce will be offered for breakfast, including varieties of banana, pineapple, papaya, citrus, avocado, coconut, lychee, guava, passion fruit, dragon fruit and other seasonal specialties. Fresh, organic eggs from local chickens and fresh goat milk and cheese will also be offered.
Hale Lamalama will also coordinate classes and activities, including hiking, biking, trail running, yoga, Tai Chi, massages, acupuncture, aroma therapy and essential oil treatments. Ukulele and Hawaiian crafts lessons are other options that are available.
Founded for his patients, Dr. Michael B. Russo wanted to create a place that anyone could escape to and prioritize their overall health and well-being.
“Hale Lamalama Ka’ili is a B&B spa dedicated to sustaining and improving the physical and spiritual health of our guests,” said Dr. Russo. “The aim was to create a wellness retreat and relaxation center for my patients and for anyone looking to reconnect and center their mind and body. My hope is that Hale Lamalama will offer that very special spiritual retreat we all long for and need so much today in the very fast paced world in which we live in.”
To celebrate the opening, Hale Lamalama is offering a free night stay for married couples who want to renew their vows. For more information, visit HiloHealthyHouse.com or call 808-339-7192.
