Houston new 2014 departure port for Concerts at Sea “Where The Action Is” 50s/60s Music Cruise

For the first time in its 21-year history, the nationally-known “Where The Action Is” ‘50’s/’60’s Oldies Music Cruise, will depart from the new Bayport Cruise Terminal at the Port of Houston, Tex., on a 7-day, round-trip voyage to the Western Caribbean in January 2014. The annual cruise, orchestrated by Concerts at Sea, LLC, is a premiere, music-themed cruise that features nightly entertainment by popular singers from the 1950s and 1960s.

The 2014 cruise is hosted by Paul Revere of Paul Revere & The Raiders with additional scheduled entertainers B.J. Thomas, Mary Wilson of The Supremes, The Cowsills, and Charlie Thomas of The Drifters.

During the 7-day trip, which departs from Houston on January 18, 2014, and winds its way to Cozumel, Roatan and Belize, guests will be able to meet the artists and enjoy concerts, dance parties and Sock Hops, autograph sessions, hosted cocktail parties, dance lessons, trivia games, one-on-one conversations with the entertainers, and more.

Concerts at Sea, a subsidiary of Boise, Idaho-based Harmon Travel, launched its Oldies Music Cruise 21 years ago to the delight of the growing number of seniors and Baby Boomers who continue to follow the music of their youth. “This particular cruise has really exploded in popularity over the past two decades,” said Bob Harmon, owner of Harmon Travel. “It started as a small contingent of primarily Boise, Idaho music lovers and grew to thousands of participants from all over the world.”

Harmon said that Houston was chosen as this year’s departure location because of the unique nearby Western Caribbean ports as well as the convenience of the new Bayport Cruise Terminal. In years past, Concerts at Sea cruises departed from various ports in Florida.
