Vayant Travel Technologies, a world leader in B2B airfare search innovation, today announced that Air Europa – Spain’s third biggest airline - has successfully implemented a Vayant tax engine, powered by the Vayant OneSearchTM airfare pricing and shopping engine.
The tax engine gives Air Europa a single platform to handle the audit and management of airport taxes worldwide. To maintain relevancy, Vayant refreshes the tax engine every twenty-four hours using data from its IATA tax database.
The Air Europa tax engine is equipped with a JSON API output to allow easy integration with other internal and external services. Implemented and tested in less than two months, Air Europa’s IATA-compliant tax engine is now fully operational.
"From day one, Vayant worked with us as a partner and we were delighted by their understanding of our business needs. From design through to implementation and fine-tuning of the tax engine, Vayant delivered quickly and it was a very positive experience," commented Víctor M. Herrero, Manager, IT & Distribution at Air Europa.
Ivan Goychev, Vayant VP Technology, said: “We worked closely with Air Europa’s IT department to build this unique engine that gives invaluable intelligence about the airport taxes for any given itinerary. Air Europa can now easily analyze the costs generated by flying through any airport.”
Vayant offers the only standalone tax engine on the market today that gives airlines a global view on their tax-related costs. Similar solutions powered by Vayant OneSearchTM are in use with Austrian Airlines and Air Baltic.
