Viet Nam -- Vietnam’s premier travel agency, Cruises in Halong Bay, has unveiled its latest offering World Heritage Site Tour: Halong Bay. The latest overnight excursion provides guests with an authentic Vietnamese experience aboard a junk ship, Violet Cruise, as they cruise around Halong Bay - a UNESCO Heritage Site. The clear blue waters, plethora of limestone islets and islands combine to create a magnificent landscape. Aside from natural beauty, experience a different way of life in floating villages around Ha Long Bay.
“Halong Bay is a must-visit spot because of its beautiful landscapes and should be in every itinerary when going on a holiday in Vietnam.”
The one night excursion around Halong Bay and its beautiful karst landscape leaves from Hanoi. Guests go on a scenic drive through farmlands where they get to see local farmers plowing the fields with their buffaloes. Upon arriving at Halong City, guests are brought to a traditional junk ship and sail around Halong Bay overnight.
According to local myths, the many islands and islets were created by dragons that were sent by the gods to protect Vietnam from invaders. The dragons attacked the invading ships with jade and pearls which then turned into the thousands of islets and islands that are scattered throughout the bay. The rock formations scattered all throughout the bay have taken names of their own based on the shapes they took. There are rock formations named as ‘Elephant’, ‘Gen. de Gaulle’s Nose’, and ‘Fighting Cocks’. Guests are cruised through the bay and through the beautiful rock formations and fishing villages. The cruise glides to a halt at the most picturesque site on Halong Bay.
As the cruise drops anchor and just before sunset, guests are invited to join a Vietnamese spring roll cooking class and will be taught how to make their own spring rolls. As guests’ appetite is whetted, they will get to see a majestic sunset over Halong Bay before having a delectable authentic Vietnamese dinner. Guests will also be treated to an Academy Award Winning movie called ‘Indochine’, which features the bay in some movie scenes.
The next day has a lot of activities waiting for guests. Enjoy an early morning Tai Chi class on the sun deck before cruising back to Halong City. Upon arrival at Halong City, guests are chauffeured to their hotels in Hanoi.
“You shouldn’t miss Halong Bay and it should be in every itinerary,” Vietnam Private Tours’s General Manager Stephen stated. “But before sailing around Halong Bay, the right cruise liner must be chosen to enjoy a night or two around Halong Bay. Choose only reputable companies that offer customizable Vietnam tour packages.”
