Global DMC Expands Reach into the growing Gulf Region

Pacific World  the global DMC, Event Management and PCO organisation, has announced their expansion into the Middle East. Pacific World is now operating in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Oman, servicing MICE clients in the Gulf region.

The expansion of Pacific World into the Middle East was facilitated through a strategic partnership with Travco, the leading full-service DMC in the UAE and Oman, and also a joint venture with TUI Travel PLC.

In the UAE, the Pacific World team will be led by Jyoti Panchmatia, one of the pioneers of the MICE business in the region, with more than 30 years of industry and destination experience. The team has significant experience handling MICE business from various parts of the world delivering bespoke itineraries and offering unique experiences to participants from a wide array of business segments including pharmaceuticals, automobile, cosmetics and banking. Past clients include GSK, MSD, NovoNordisk, Mercedes, L’Oreal, Telefinanz.

The strategic partnership with Travco also provides Pacific World Oman with a team experienced in handling MICE programmes in the emerging destination. Some of the unique ideas they have transformed into successful events are organising meetings in ancient forts, team-building in Bedouin style in the desert, and fishermen-themed evenings at secluded beaches. Groups have recently been managed in Oman on behalf of NovoNordisk, Nestle, Pfizer, Volkswagen and Zeppelin.

Commenting on the expansion and strategic partnership, Harsha Krishnan, Strategic Development Director at Pacific World said: “The Gulf region has experienced tremendous growth in inbound travel in recent years. As home to three major aviation hubs (Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha) connecting Europe and Asia, it was critical for Pacific World to establish a presence in this market. We are happy to be able to service our clients in this region through a partnership with an established DMC such as Travco.”

Jyoti Panchmatia, General Manager Travco UAE and Oman, and Country Manager, Pacific World UAE and Oman commented, “The expansion into these new destinations created huge variety to offer Pacific World clients. Dubai is the regional business hub and has an infrastructure to match, from the most luxurious hotels, to endless incentive options in the desert, the city, or on the ocean. Abu Dhabi fuses modernity with a touch of Arabian charm, while Oman retains its mystery and a unique culture that provides the ideal complement to any meeting or conference.”
