HONOLULU – The long awaited new Coconut Willy’s Waikiki is set for their grand opening party on Friday May 10th and will feature live music, hot DJ’s and delicious food as follows…

WHAT: Dance the night away with some of Hawaii’s hottest DJ’s and live bands in Waikiki! After a one year hiatus, Coconut Willy’s Waikiki (aka CW’s Night Club or C-DUBS) which re-opens tonight (April 26th) will be having their grand opening celebration on Friday May 10th featuring drink specials, live entertainment and DJ’s spinning a mixture of 80’s, 90’s & Now. In March of 2012 owner David Kenney opened Coconut Willy’s at the old Hard Rock Café location as a sub-leaser from the Restaurant Club House (who held the lease on the location at the time), only to close the doors three weeks later because the Club House folded their business. It then started the year long journey to obtain the lease of the property. It took a year, to get the venue up to code, remodeled and obtain all the proper paper work and permits to get up and running. So now with an updated kitchen, renovated bar, dining room and dance area Coconut Willy’s Waikiki is ready to rock once again!

Hosting the grand opening at Coconut Willy’s Waikiki is one of Hawaii’s most well-known DJ/Entertainers, Kutmaster Spaz (www.djspaz.com) along with female entertainer Dawn Hanohano which you might recognize from fronting many popular rock bands in Hawaii. In the mix, spinning all the hot tracks will be DJ Sir Style (https://www.facebook.com/sirstylef4c). Sir Style’s flair to remix songs live and his ability to play a bit of everything will delight any crowd wanting to dance and have a good time. The festivities will open with the band “Stink Eye” playing classic and modern rock along with Top 40 Alternative from 9:00 pm – 12:00 am to get the night fired up! However, if you are not the dancing type, Coconut Willy’s is designed so you can sit back and chill in the Tiki Bar Ultra-Lounge area with leather sofas, unique art work by Trey Surtees (http://www.treysurtees.com/) and flat screen TV’s where you can have some cool conversation in a more relaxed type environment or you can catch a breath of fresh air while having a drink outside on the patio bar. Delicious bar type food (fresh cut fries, sliders, pizza and burgers) all night long. If you want to make a night of it you can come early for dinner from our in House Kitchen (Stewy Stews) where Executive Chef Kawika Cahill (former Executive Chef of Formagio’s Kailua) has created a delightful menu that is sure to please any appetite. Finally 10% of all sales made on May 10th will be donated to the Hawaii Food bank to help feed Hawaii’s hungry.
